Black Lion - Surbiton

Everything was really good, the wifi was free. Standard twin room was functional, the beds were exceptionally comfortable.

Didn't like the staff, some of them were particularly busy.

My 1 night in Surbiton were fine.

We thoroughly enjoyed the room, superb food.

The service was great, no complaints whatsoever. The location was great and perfect for us - near pubs and restaurants.

The pub atmosphere was inviting, though the WiFi sadly didn't reach my room.

Recently refurbished rooms, especially the ensuite bathrooms-perfect for a little privacy after a night out. Convenient proximity to a busy bar serves up good beer and tasty food, with live music adding to the local flavor.

Rooms sit above a lively pub, leading to some late-night noise, particularly on quiz nights that clash with major sporting events. The awkward outdoor stairs could be a hassle for anyone with limited mobility, and the shared kitchen setup for breakfast-just a few cereal tubs-might not please everyone.

I stayed for 4 nights and the customer service was great, especially from the staff who were always ready to help. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere despite being above a pub was good.

It wasn't exactly budget-friendly but still acceptable for what you get.

Great hotel with free wi-fi, a lovely bar area, and an outdoor dining space. The staff were helpful, guiding me on where to dine. I look forward to coming back for a holiday!

The room was a Budget Single Room with a private bathroom, fresh towels, and a kettle for coffee. It also had good shower pressure, heating, and a tv. The outdoor dining area was nice for a drink. Staff were really helpful with tips on where to eat. Quite a fun atmosphere with live music too.

Friendly local ambiance

The location is perfect and just a short walk from the train station. The staff were lovely, always cute and ready to help. I accessed my room from the side entrance, made everything super easy. I particularly enjoyed the quiet atmosphere on the top floor, away from any pub noise.

It's a charming traditional london pub with a very friendly atmosphere. The hosts really couldn't do enough for us, and we appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities. It's located just outside of central london but has easy transport connections was good. We really enjoyed our time here.

We stayed in a Quadruple Room and were really surprised by its size and cleanliness. The staff was accommodating, even helping us with the baby needs. We loved visiting the charming local pub nearby for a good meal after a long day.

In my wife's opinion, a few more family-friendly amenities would have been great.

Had a lovely stay with a comfortable triple room and an enjoyable live music night that really added to the vibe. The garden area was a nice touch for relaxing with friends over a drink. The only hiccup was the keypad for the back yard didn’t work well, but that didn’t dampen my experience at all. 😊

This place boasts a fantastic location right next to shops and bars. The facilities in the room were excellent, with clean sheets and plenty of tea and coffee. The pricing felt a bit on the higher side for what was offered, and while the WiFi was great, noise from outside was disruptive. It provided a satisfactory experience for a short visit.
